Northern Pike prospects should be similar to recent years. A stronger than average year class was produced in 2001 and it appears a weak year class was produced in 2003. A special regulation for northern pike went into effect on Lake Vermilion in 2003. The regulation is a 24-36 inch protective slot, with one fish allowed over 36". All pike 24-36 inches must immediately be returned to the lake. mn-DNR
